Maria Isabel Vega-Burgos

Maria Isabel Vega-Burgos, age 86 of Glennville peacefully passed away on November 20,2024, at her home. Born on January 1, 1938 in Puerto Rico to Euladio Vega and Julia Burgos, moving to Glennville 3 years ago. Maria Isabel was a devoted member of the Casa de Oracion' Jehova Ehova Shamma Church, where her faith was a guiding force in her life. Her love for her church was evident in her warm presence and the supportive relationships she fostered throughout the years. She lived a life that epitomized the values of hard work, faith, and family. A dedicated homemaker, Maria Isabel took great pride in creating a warm inviting home, filled with the comforting scent of Clorox and the delicious aromas of her culinary creations. Her cooking was a reflection of her nurturing spirit, often incorporating organic ingredients from the farm. Passionate about agriculture, she cultivated a variety of organic crops, including tobacco, plantains, bananas, and even coffee, sharing the fruits of her labor with those she loved.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Juan Cruz Rivera of Glennville; her children, Juan A. Cruz of Hinesville, Hector J. (Marilou) Cruz of Florida, Luz Maria (Israel) Cruz of Puerto Rico, Victor (Jacqueline) Cruz of Puerto Rico, Blanca I. (Jose) Cruz of Puerto Rico, Angel M. (Carmen) Cruz of Puerto Rico, Luis J. Cruz of Pennsylvania, Jorge L. (Angela) Cruz of Pennsylvania, Jaime A. (Elvia) Cruz of Illinois, Miguel A. (Marisol) Cruz of Puerto Rico, Jose E. Cruz of Pennsylvania, Nydia M. (Luis) Cruz of Glennville, Julio A. Cruz of Puerto Rico, Maribel (Carlos) Cruz of Puerto Rico and Edwin (Lizettes) Cruz of Columbus; siblings, Elias Vega-Burgos of New York, Candidad Vega-Burgos of Puerto Rico and Julio Vega-Burgos of Puerto Rico; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives also survive.

 As we remember Maria Isabel Vega-Burgos, we celebrate a life rich with purpose and devotion. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Family will receive friends from 10:00am to 10:00pm on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted 10:00am Sunday, November 24, 2024 from the Chapel of Glennville Funeral Home with Pastor Miguel Rivera officiating. Interment will follow the service at Glennville Memorial Gardens.
