Marilucy Henderson Whiddon, daughter of the late Hansel Murphy Henderson and Arthie Roberts Henderson of Ocilla, GA; went home to Jesus on July 30, 2021 at the age of 82. Marilucy was born in Ocilla, Ga. on August 19, 1938. She grew up on the family farm in Irwin County where her love for animals began.  She was a talented pianist having learned to play the instrument by ear and gifted in both piano and voice which helped her earn the title of Miss Irwin County in the 1950’s.  She had a bright, contagious smile and never met a stranger.  She attended Irwin County High School and was valedictorian of her graduating class and later attended Valdosta State College.   She was a paralegal in her early career but was most remembered for her years of employment with Belk as a beauty consultant for Estee Lauder.  She never went anywhere without her visually impaired son, Scott on her arm and held a special devotion to all individuals with the handicap dedicating numerous hours of service to the Savannah Association for the Blind.

She is survived by her children Scott Maurice Whiddon, Breck Hansel Whiddon (Anne Marie), Lucy Whiddon Fonseca (Clinton), Sarah Lynne Whiddon and her grandchildren Conrad, Spencer, Merritt, Davis and Harris.

In honor of her wishes, a family memorial service will be held at Riverbend Missionary Baptist Church in Ocilla followed by scattering of her ashes next to her parents at the family cemetery.
