Reidsville,
Marshall Joseph Hornberger, age 59, passed away Sunday, September 4, 2022 at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia. He was born in Harrisburg, PA on May 10, 1963 and had lived in Reidsville most of his life. He attended the University of Georgia where he was a member of the Red Coat Band. After college Marshall joined the United States Army where he was trained to be a medic and after the army, he joined the Georgia National Guard. He was a computer programmer for many years working with several companies and the last one was On Shore in Glennville. Marshall also enjoyed working with the Tattnall County Sheriff’s Office as a jailer and a dispatcher. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing chess and Dungeon and Dragons, researching genealogy, and watching the UGA Football.
Marshall is preceded in death by his father, Marvin Hornberger and his nephews, Curtis and Christopher Hornberger.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Bertha (Donnie) Conner of Lyons; brother and sister-in-law, Martin and Donna Hornberger of Cartersville; nieces and nephew, Kim (Jimmy) Popham, Kendra (Adam) Thomas, and Karson Hornberger all of Cartersville; great nieces and nephews, Trey Popham, Katie Popham, Charlie Ann Thomas, and Addie Mae Thomas
The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00pm on Wednesday, September 7, 2022 with the funeral services to follow at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial with Reverend Shannon Boula officiating. Interment will follow in the Reidsville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mart Conner, Trent Akins, Chris Archambeaut, Derrick Glisson, Jimmy Popham, and Trey Popham.
Memorials may be given to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105
