Martha Kay (Green) Meeks

Mrs. Martha Kay “Tooma” Meeks, age 68, passed away Friday, August 27, 2021 at Optim Medical Center in Reidsville.  She was born in Metter on December 1, 1952 to Eugene Talmadge and Margaret Anderson Green and had lived in Tattnall County all of her life.  She was the best stay at home mom ever!  She loved taking care of her grandbabies and her horses.  Tooma enjoyed crafting and watching baseball especially the Atlanta Braves.  She is preceded in death by her father, her husband, Buddy Meeks, a baby; brother in law, Donald See.

She is survived by her children, Wesley Meeks (Trish Gibson), Brandon (Joy) Meeks and Treasure Meeks all of Collins; her mother, Margaret Anderson Green of Cobbtown; siblings, Sylvia See, Greg (Denise) Green, Derald (Lynn) Green all of Cobbtown and Melanie Walker (Johnny James) of Reidsville; grandchildren, Kayla Meeks, Dixie Meeks, Karsyn Meeks, Macy Meeks, Scarlett Meeks and Ryder Meeks; great grandchildren, Maverick Meeks and Baby “S”; extended group of people that Mrs. Martha claims as her own; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at 10:00am on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 with the funeral services to follow at 11:00am in the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial with the Mr. Steve Anderson officiating.

Interment will follow in the Sunlight Cemetery in Cobbtown.

Pallbearers will be Justin Meeks, Troy Phillips, Troy Walker, Willis Wayne Walker, Justin See, and Jonathan Smith.

Low Country Cremation and Burial is serving the Meeks family.
