Mary Lou Moore, age 72, passed away on Thursday July 27, 2017 under the care of Hospice Savannah surrounded by her family. The Florida native moved to Collins at a very early age. She attended Collins Elementary and ultimately graduated from Collins High School. After graduation, she met the love of her life, Wade Moore and married. Being the wife of a U.S. Army soldier, she moved all across the country. Upon her husband’s discharge, the family moved back to Savannah where Mary went to work as a police officer with Georgia Ports Authority, retiring with over 26 years of service. Upon retirement, she moved back to her childhood home, Collins. Mary was the center of her family, loved by many and will be sorely missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wade S. Moore, mother Mildred Green Lamb, and a brother Herbert Collins.
Left to cherish fond memories are her children, Kenny (Kimmy) Moore of Port Wentworth, Edwina (Terrell) Scarboro of Savannah, and John (Lisa) Moore of Savannah; two brothers, William Outler of Savannah and Wayne (Ann) Outler of Sandersville; three sisters, Betty Ivey of Dunn NC, Linda (Gene) Dawson of Collins, and Lessie (Jan Scott) Barron of Collins; nine grandchildren, Joshua Moore, Greg Moore , Paige Moore, Taylor Moore, Chandler Moore, Garrett Moore, Julia Moore, Dawn Galen and Amber Galen; numerous nieces, nephews, other family, and countless friends also survive.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Collins Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation, beginning at 1:00 p.m. also at Collins Baptist Church, with the Rev. David Lamm officiating. Burial will follow in Brewton Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ranzy Outler, John Turner, Rob Hutcheson, Garrett Moore, Tony Chosewood, and Jeremy Schifflett.
