Savannah,
Mrs. Mary M. White age 92 passed away Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Savannah Specialty Nursing Center in Savannah. The Bryan County native had lived most of her life in Savannah. She worked for Trade Winds and for the Savannah Police Department as a school crossing guard for over 25 years and taught piano lessons for many years. She was a member of First Assembly of God where she served as the organist and was a member of the Golden Gems. Mrs. White loved playing the piano, baking and decorating birthday and wedding cakes. She enjoyed working in her flower beds and in her vegetable garden. She never met a stranger and loved talking with people. She also loved the children she met during her years as a school crossing guard. Mrs. White is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Livicie Davis, siblings, Nellie Hall, Evelyn Shuman, Clevie, Daniel and Thomas Davis and a daughter, Betty Waters.
She is survived by her husband of 74 years, Mr. Titus E. White of Savannah;
sons and daughters in law, Timothy E. (Tim) and Sylvia White of Cedar
Crossing Community, Larry and Sandra White of Savannah; brother,
Jerome Davis of Ellabell; grandchildren, Kevin White, Timmy White, Sonya
Entrekin, Ginger Douglas, Dwayne White, Randy Waters and Tammi Waters;
great-grandchildren, Trevor White, Austin White, Chase Entrekin, Riley
Entrekin, Brennan Douglas, Peyton Douglas, Mariah White, Jarrod White,
Jamie Riexinger, Jennifer Waters, Jonatha Waters and Logan Waters; several
nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will begin at 10:00am Tuesday, May 15, 2012 from the First Assembly of God, 1901 Pennsylvania Avenue, Savannah, GA 31404 with the funeral services to follow at 11:00am with Brother Cecil Gray officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Savannah.
Pallbearers will be Kevin White, Timmy (Tim) White, Logan Waters, Randy Waters, Gene Douglas and Jake Entrekin
