Maryland Smith, age 66 passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Memorial Health University Medical Center. He was a native of Tattnall County and lived in Reidsville most of his life. Maryland was a loving, kind and caring brother who was always willing to lend a hand and help those in need. He was preceded in death by his brother, Alonzo Smith; sister, Narris Kennebrew.

He is survived by his sister, Lois Richardson of Reidsville; nieces and nephews, Casta Smith of Reidsville, Astoria Richardson of Atlanta, Eric (Claudia) Smith of Reidsville, Alonzo Smith, Israel Smith, Nicole Smith, Kim Smith and other relatives also survive.

Private services will be held.

Low Country Cremation and Burial is serving the Smith family.

The Loss Of My Brother

I have lost my only brother.

He was a loving and caring person.

He was always willing to help people.

He was born with a mathematic mind.

He seemed to be knowledgeable about life.

He was a very brave and intelligent person.

According to God's word in the bible,

There is going to be a ressurrection.

I know I will see my brother again.

I'm looking forward to seeing his smile.

Even though, he lived many miles away

I would always visit him to talk to him.

I had to say good-bye to my brother.

I know, I will see him again in the New World.

I feel we are living in the time of the end.

I know I will see him very soon.

He is in my heart, mind and prayers.

I remember the good and bad times we shared.

I know one day, I will see your face again.
