Matthew Clinton Loflin,thirty-two,died Thursday,24 Apr,at Memorial Medical
University Health Center of natural causes.Born in Kenniwick,WA,he moved to
South Georgia with his family at age three.He was an All-American kid.He was an all star running back for the Swainsboro Middle School Tigers football team,an electronics enthusiast,auto mechanic,NASCAR fan,and a member of various car clubs.He attended Richmond Hill High School and was active in the First Baptist Church of Richmond Hill.He was an accomplished roofer in both metal and shingle roofs.He was a commercial fisherman in Sunbury,shrimping aboard the Sea Trawler with Capt Dennis Murphy,an oysterman,and captain of the Geechee George for Ossabaw Oyster Company.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather,Belinda and Joe Maley,Sunbury;his
loving grandmother Nancy Monson;aunt,Paula(Bill)McCullouch,and numerous
cousins,all from Washington state;a stepsister,Ramona(Steve)Dennison and nephew George,Douglas,GA;stepsister and brother,Sherri Lambiase and David
Marshall;sister,Cara Stoubmier;father,Gene Loflin,Fleming.
A memorial will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank the staff at MMHU Cardiovascular and Father Gabe Cummings for their compassionate care during Matthew's ordeal.
