MC Sherd, age 85 passed away Friday, November 1, 2019 at Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia. He was born on January 2, 1934 in Metter to Emmitt and Sinie Sherd.MC went to school in Collins. He worked at Jarriel Farms as a farmer for many years.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruby Lee Sherd; siblings, Glenon Smith,Catherine Sherd, Gene Sherd and Willard Sherd.
He is survived by his children, Marsha (James) Crummer of Hinesville, Andrea Mathis of Ludowici, Linda (Marlo) Posley of Vidalia, Fay (Dennis) Brown of Jacksonville, FL.; sisters Sinie Mae Jackson of Claxton, Lula Joe Jenkins of Cobbtown, Ella Mae James of Claxton; ten grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and one special grandchildren Nicholos.
The family will receive friends from at 5:00p.m. - 8:00p.m. on Friday, November 8, 2019 at Low Country Cremation and Burial in Reidsville. Funeral Services will be on Saturday, November 9, 2019, at 11:00 a.m., at the St. Phillips Missionary Baptist Church in Reidsville. Interment will follow in the Steep Hill Cemetery in Candler County.
Pallbearers will be Artevius Jackson, Anthony Hicks, Marlo Posley, Kevin Tolbert, Cyrus Purdiman, and Ricky Jackson.
