Meletta Boyette, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at the Community Hospice in Vidalia. The lifelong resident of Collins was born on April 14, 1941 to Forrest Greely and Elise Futch Ansley.
She was a devoted beautician for many years, sharing her skills and passion for beauty with those around her. A proud graduate of Collins High School, Class of 1959, Meletta carried the values of hard work and creativity throughout her life. Her love for shopping was well-known among her friends and family, providing enjoyable memories of laughter and camaraderie.
Meletta's legacy will live on through her beloved grandchildren, Justin Paul Jarriel and Lea Mackenzie Jarriel, who both reside in Collins. She is also remembered fondly by her nephew, Darren Ansley of Collins, along with several great nieces and nephews who were dear to her heart.
Meletta is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Jerome Jarriel and Lloyd Boyette; her sons, Jerry Jarriel and Greg Jarriel, and her brother, Ray Ansley.
A graveside service to honor Meletta's life will take place on September 20, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Anderson Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Andrew Nelms officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:30pm at the Cemetery.
