Obituary

Michael Leland Somers age 53 passed away Friday, December 28, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his family and under the care of Hospice Savannah. He was born in Toule, France on a military base. Michael grew up in Vidalia, GA;  At the age of 22, he moved to Irvington, New Jersey where he met his wife. He lived in New Jersey for 25 years and relocated to Richmond Hill in July of 2009. He was employed in warehousing and logistics for most of his professional career, managing Dietrich Warehouse and BASF. Michael was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. He was an avid New York Yankees fan and enjoyed playing golf. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Somers, II.

He was married on December 28, 1984 and survived by his wife of 28 years, Dawn Michelle Somers of Richmond Hill, GA; two daughters, Vicki Stafford of Wayne, NJ. and Katie Somers of Richmond Hill, GA; sons, Tim Somers of Savannah, GA. and William Somers of Richmond Hill, GA; mother and step-father, Mary Ann and Joe Cela of Savannah, GA; sister, Denise Deterlizza of Kearny, NJ; brother, Charles Somers, III of Snellville, GA; granddaughter, Kiernan Raye Stafford of Wayne, NJ;  also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral Services

Memorial Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, December 31, 2012 from the Glennville Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home with the Reverend Archie Seabrook officiating.
