Mike "Hector" Sellers, age 56, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Atlanta, GA on April 17, 1968 to Arthur Albert and Nora Chastain Sellers. He had lived in California, Oklahoma, and Alabama before settling in Reidsville in 2008.
Throughout his career, Mike held several jobs, having notably worked for the airlines in Oklahoma and California before retiring from the City of Reidsville. His work ethic and commitment to his career were evident, but his true passions lay beyond the workplace.
Mike was deeply fond of sports, particularly football, softball, and basketball, where he shared his knowledge and enthusiasm as a former basketball coach. His love for these games epitomized his character, showcasing teamwork and leadership that extended beyond the court and field.
Known as a simple man, Mike cherished spending quality time with his grandchildren. He often enjoyed life’s small pleasures, such as cutting grass and sipping on his favorite drink, Pepsi. His personality shone bright through his hobbies, which included hunting and fishing—activities that brought him joy and relaxation in nature.
Mike is a member of the Reidsville Baptist Church and is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Wayne Brady.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Amy Sellers of Reidsville; his children, Michael (Skylar) Sellers, Jr. of Daisy; Makayla (Corey) Driggers of Collins, Andrew (Chelsea) Sellers of Reidsville, Erica (Harley Pitts) Sellers of Collins and Trinity Sellers of Collins; his siblings, Margie Sellers Cordell of Lafayette, GA and Terry Sellers of Illinois, several other siblings; grandchildren, Jacob, Daniel, Christopher, Addison, Ryder,, Maddox, Niko, Augustus, Christina, and Kendall; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00pm on Friday, February 21, 2025, with the funeral services to follow at 3:00pm from the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial with Dr. Charles Jonas officiating. Interment will be in the Reidsville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Sellers, Mike Sellers, Jr., Emerson Hernandez, Justin Tucker, Corey Driggers, and Harley Pitts.
The family would like to thank Bethany Hospice of Claxton for the excellent care they provided.
