GLENNVILLE
Ms. Mildred S. DeLoach Blocker, age 90 passed
away Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at her daughter,
Jan’s residence surrounded by her family and under
the care of Heartland Hospice. She was a native and
lifelong resident of Long County. Ms. Mildred worked
with Rayonier and Georgia Forestry as a tree surgeon.
She was a founding member of the Long County
Protective Services Auxiliary, loved to cook and take
care of her family. Ms. Mildred was a member of Pigot
Branch Missionary Baptist Church and had attended
First United Pentecostal Church of Glennville for the past
25 years. She was preceded in death by her husbands,
Willie H. DeLoach, Sr. and Harold M. Blocker; children,
Roger DeLoach, Gary DeLoach, Willa Ruth Chike,
and Audrey Williams; Great-grandson, Devin Walker; parents, George D. and Sallie Clem
Swindell; siblings, Marvin Swindell, Montez Starcher, Dewitt Swindell, and Madge Hayes.
She is survived by her children, Winifred Walker of New Philadelphia, OH,
Ronnie (Margie) DeLoach, Willie DeLoach, Gerald (Cheryl) Blocker, Jan (Danny)
Foster; daughter-in-law, Linda DeLoach all of Glennville; sister, Joan (Robert)
Dubberly of Glennville; 19 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren; numerous
nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will begin at 6:00pm Friday, August 30, 2013 from the Bradley B.
Anderson Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel. Funeral Services will be conducted,
3:00 P.M., Saturday, August 31, 2013 from the First United Pentecostal Church with
the Reverends James M. Holland and Brad Pickern officiating. Interment will follow
in the Pigot Branch Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tyron Joyner, Chris Gross, Clint Durrence, Dan Scott, Lee
Howard, Terry Nickel. Honorary pallbearers will be the Long County Fire Department,
the Long County Protective Services, Bobby Parker, Ike Powell, Gene Groover, Jimmy
Parker, Ted Tatum, Buckshot Reddish, Wayne Dasher, Ronnie Lewis, Gene Reddish,
Craig Nobles, Steven Martin, Elton Foster, Wilton Foster, Robert Joyner, Reid Mobley,
Lonnie Skeens, Richard Long, Norman Davisworth, Quinton Rush, Pat Dubberly, Gus
Nobles.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be given to the Long County Protection Services,
