Myrtie "Myrt" Lee (Yarborough) Baxter

Donald Community,

Myrtie Lee “Myrt” Baxter , age 77, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah. The Long County native had lived in the Donald Community most of her life.  She was a homemaker and a member of Pigot Branch Missionary Baptist Church.  She loved to read, needle point and cutting her grass.  Mrs. Myrt is preceded in death by her husband, Winwood Baxter; parents, Fleming and Irene Yarborough and a sister, Sarah Swindell.

She is survived by her children, Kenny (Patricia) Moon of the Donald Community, Nancy Moody of Reidsville, Stacey Baxter of the Donald Community, Joe Baxter of Savannah, and Patrick (Amanda) Baxter of Brunswick; eleven grandchildren; twenty one great grandchildren; special niece, Kathy Collins of Glennville.

The family will receive friends beginning at 6:00pm on Tuesday from the funeral home.  Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am, Wednesday, July 27, 2016 from the Pigot Branch Missionary Baptist Church with the Reverend Robert Long officiating.  Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Moon, Ken Moon, Patrick Baxter, Joe Baxter, Brad Baxter, and Josh Moon.

Low Country Cremation Services and Burial is serving the Baxter family.
