Nancy R Spikes

Nancy R. Spikes, age 74, passed away on November 3, 2021, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital in Vidalia after battling complications of COVID.  The lifelong resident of Reidsville was born in Metter to the late John W and Agnes (Day) Googe.  For many years, Nancy worked in food service for the Tattnall County Board of Education.  In her free time she was a talented seamstress who produced show stopping pageant dresses!  Her down time would regularly include binge watching her favorite shows on Netflix; a couple of which was N.C.I.S. and Hawaii Five-0.  When her family was around though, she loved to spend time with them.  One of the ways she expressed that love was through baking.  The family especially recalls her blueberry cake.  Always fresh ingredients made with love! “Mimi” as she became known later in life was the title she was most proud of!  A life filled with love for all; Nancy will be deeply missed by all who knew her.  She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne Spikes; a brother, Robert Googe; and a sister, Janice Wilds.

Left to cherish a life well lived are her sons, Tony Spikes of Jesup, Harry (Sandra) Spikes of Collins, Ronald (Latrell) Spikes of SC, and Donald (Deanne) Spikes of SC; a daughter, Annette Spikes of Reidsville; a brother, Franklin (Carol) Googe of Reidsville; four sisters, Susan (Doyle) Tootle, Bessie Wortham, Kathy (John) Haggard all of Reidsville, and Linda (Jim) Kennedy of Townsend; seven grandchildren, Aleigh, Amber, Hally, Hannah, Ron, Savanna, and Benjamin; a longtime friend, Libby Willis of Reidsville; a special pup-child, Star; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive.

Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, November 4, 2021, at the chapel of Low Country Cremation & Burial from 2:00-3:00 p.m.

Funeral services will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at the chapel of Low Country Cremation & Burial with Rev. William Prince officiating.

Interment will follow at Reidsville City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Donald Spikes, Ronald Spikes, Ron Spikes, Benjamin Spikes, Rodney Todd, and Greg Northern.
