Neil Rogers

David Neil Rogers, age 79, of Reidsville, GA went to his heavenly home on Monday January 25, 2021. Born on May 30, 1941, Neil was the fourth child of Garlon and Evelyn Rogers of Manassas.

Neil was a 1959 graduate of Reidsville High School and served in the Air National Guard. He worked at the Tattnall Bank for over 10 years and was one of the founding supporters for Pinewood Christian Academy. Neil’s strong faith in Jesus Christ was exemplified through his commitment and service at Reidsville Baptist Church as a teacher, deacon, and dedicated member.

He was most known as a lifelong farmer. Even during his time at the bank, Neil still farmed part time. He is well versed in row crops and felt farming ran in his blood. Neil enriched many lives through his strong work ethic, his love for the outdoors as well as his love for his family and service for the Lord. Although he had many accolades such as Conservationist of the Year, his greatest pride was his family.

Neil is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Garlon and Evelyn Rogers and brother, Lawrence Rogers.

Neil is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 59 years, Libby Rogers; Daughter, Phyllis Rogers Crews (David) of Reidsville; Son, Ronald Rogers (Joy) of Gainesville; and Daughter, Renee Rogers Howard (John) of Reidsville. He took pride in his grandchildren, Caleb Crews, Whitney Crews Sapp (Chad), Emily Rogers, Avery Rogers, Erin Howard, and Ansley Howard. Greatgrandchildren Hayden and Grady Sapp.

Siblings, Jimmy Rogers (Henri Etta) of Bellville; Gene Rogers (Wanda) of Chauncey; Faye Rogers Kemp (Harold) of Claxton; sister-in-law Paula Rogers of Eastman; Wayne Rogers (Kim) of Watkinsville.

Many beloved nieces and nephews also survive. The family is giving friends of Mr. Neil an opportunity to come by the funeral home to pay their respects on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 from the hours of 5:00pm to 8:00pm.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted 11:00am on Thursday, January 28, 2021 from the Mount Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery near Collins with Dr. Chuck Jonas officiating.

Pallbearers will be Caleb Crews, Avery Rogers, Chad Sapp, Jason Parker, James Rogers, and Garlon Rogers.
