Nora Lee Walker Calhoun was born in Metter, Georgia on April 28, 1949 to the late Mel Calhoun and Ruth Ward Calhoun. Nora Lee gained her wings on September 21, 2020 at Valdosta South Georgia Medical Center. She was educated in the Public-School System of Glennville, Georgia. In between school and holding down odd jobs and raising a family at a young age Nora helped raise many of her nephews and nieces of her sisters and brothers. Nora loved to sew; she became a seamstress for many years. Nora lived a full life of doing what she loved at Collins Fabrications in Jesup, Georgia.
Nora Lee had many accomplishments throughout her 71 years, but her greatest joy came from having her grandchildren near.
Nora always spoke her mind and always said what she felt and if you didn’t know her you would have thought she was the meanest woman in the world, even though many thought of her as being mean they couldn’t help themselves to still want to be in her company. She was a second mother for so many and many wanted her as their mother or grandmother, because of her loving heart and spirit. If you really knew Nora Lee, you knew she would do anything for you if she could. Nora loved fishing and she would spend many hours doing just that.
In 1971 Nora moved to Ludowici, Georgia in doing so, Nora became a lifelong member of St. James Baptist Church of Ludowici, Georgia. She raised two of her grandchildren, Latoya Lewis and Shanahi DeJesus as her own. She later met and married Cliffton Walker of Ludowici, Georgia.
