Obituary
Mrs. Oakie Thompson Harris age 98 passed away Saturday, November 26, 2011 at the Tattnall Healthcare Center under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. The Tattnall County native was the daughter of the late C.M. Thompson and Annie Ryals Thompson. She was a graduate of Middle Georgia College and taught school in Polk County, Florida. She lived in Lake Wales, Florida for fifty years moving to Savannah in 1985. While in Lake Wales she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Wales where she was active in the Youth Sunday School department for 40 years. She was also President of the Home Makers Club, member of the Music Club, Garden Club and Women's Club in Lake Wales. Mrs. Harris was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Savannah. She is preceeded in death by husband, U.L. Harris.
She is survived by her sister, Ruth Thompson Holmes of Charlotte, North Carolina; Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation and Funeral Services
Visitation will begin 10:00am Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at the Reidsville United Methodist Church. Graveside Funeral services will follow at 11:00am from the Reidsville City Cemetery with the Reverends Bill Eller and Marc Foster officiating.

Memorials may be given to Ogeechee Area Hospice Post Office Box 531, Statesboro, Georgia 30459.
