Collins,
Pat Foy Cannon, age 65, mounted up for her ride to her heavenly home on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at East Georgia Regional Hospital in Statesboro. The Claxton native was born on September 19, 1955 to Jonah Harold and Thelma Simmons Foy and had lived in Collins most of her life. Her professional career would have culminated this month when she would have retired after 29 years with Trane. Although she was dedicated to her career, she always made time for her favorite pass time ; horseback riding. Equipped with a horse trailer that also had sleeping quarters, she was able to travel to various places and still enjoy long rides. While closer to home, she also loved flowers and had multiple varieties in her yard. No doubt she loved God’s creation; her hobbies reflected her appreciation for nature. She loved the Lord and was a Christian, her earthly loss is surely Heaven’s gain. She is preceded in death by her parents; step son, Kenneth Cannon, Jr; and siblings, Alex Gerald Foy, James Randall Foy, and Ruth Marie Foy.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Julian Cannon of Collins; children, Adam Foy of Pembroke and Patty Thomas of Jesup; siblings, Roger (Sally) Foy of Claxton, Ricky (Cindy) Foy of Bellville, Kathy (Robert) Kuhns of Claxton and Nancy Cartwright of Collins; grandchildren, Michelle and Megan Foy, Madison Beasley, Austin (Rachel) Beasley; great grandson, Kent Beasley; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00pm on Sunday, December 6, 2020 with the funeral services to follow at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial with Rev. Greg Smith and Bro. Gary Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow in Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Cody Dotson, Allen Sharpe, Cal DeLoach, Austin Beasley, Dubby Beasley, Caleb Hodges, Kyle Vilet, and Kenny Cannon.
