Mr. Patrick “Pat” Henry Banks, age 70 passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Community Hospice Inpatient Center in Vidalia, Georgia. A native of Glennville, Pat was a 1962 graduate of Glennville High School and attended Brewton Parker College. He served as a Georgia State Representative for Bibb County, a lobbyist for the National Federation of Independent Business and most recently was an onion broker enjoying spending time at his produce stands. In his spare time, Pat enjoyed hunting and was an avid fisherman. He was a member of the Glennville United Methodist Church and attended Hopewell United Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Rufus and Molly Moody Banks; two brothers, James R. Banks, Jr. and Willis Bryant (W.B.) Banks and two sisters, Maxine Banks England and Regina Banks Thornton.
Pat is survived by two sons, Bryan Banks and wife Staci of Plainsville, GA, Patrick Banks and wife Whitney of Baton Rouge, LA; and one daughter, Julianne Hearn and husband Caughey of Claxton, GA; mother of his children, Mary Kathryn Banks of Claxton, GA; two brothers, T.C. Banks of Jacksonville, FL and Gary Banks of Canton, GA; one sister, Betty Kicklighter of Sandersville, GA; eight grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 6:00pm on Monday, July 1, 2013 from the Glennville Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am Tuesday, July 2, 2013 from the Hopewell United Methodist Church with the Reverend Sam Wilder officiating. Interment will follow in the Glennville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Derry Banks, Knott Geiger, Ted Humphries, Ricky Wilson, Lonnie England and Delmas Jones.
Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel is serving the Banks family.
