Paul Isaac Goodman, age 79 passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Carl Vinson VA Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born on September 18, 1935 in Lufkin, Texas to Francis Martin Goodman and Maybelle Lott. His paternal grandparents were Joseph C. Goodman (Civil War Veteran) and Medina Wheat. His maternal grandparents were Andrew G. Lott and Martha Stringer. Paul was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was strong, positive and confident as well as a gentle and soft-hearted man who lived up to his name...He was a Good-Man and much loved by his family. He was a US Army veteran and served mainly in Germany during the Vietnam era. He worked in the construction industry most of his life building oil refineries in the Virgin Islands, Iran, Saudia Arabi, Canada and many other sites in the Unites States. Paul was a member of the VFW, a 32 Master Mason and a past-president of the Quint Shrine Club. He was preceded in death by his 3 brothers, Bradley Goodman, Joseph C. Goodman and Francis M. Goodman; 4 sisters, Marie Beauchamp, Betty Lou Goodman, Berneice Cooper and Mary Sue Crisp Tower; great-grandson, Jamie Stewart.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Pamela McDaniel Edge Goodman of Vidalia; 2 sons, Phillip Edge of Alamo and Parker (Caryn) Edge of Vidalia; sister, Virdie Doerfler Kremer of Sun City, AZ; 3 granddaughters, Juliana Edge (Josh) Stewart, Jenna Edge and Cassie Edge; 2 grandsons, JonPaul Edge and Joshua Edge; great-grandson, Jeshua Stewart; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Paul wishes were that he be cremated and that no services be held.
