Peggy Folsom Rewis, age 89, died August 1, 2107, at home following an extended illness. Peggy was born on April 26, 1928, to George Folsom and Eva Kennedy Folsom. She was a native of Tattnall County and resided in Reidsville all of her life. Peggy possessed a benevolent spirit, and many, many individuals benefitted from her kind and generous heart. Through the years, she served as a caregiver to many of her family members. She was an active member of the Reidsville United Methodist Church and the Lillian Eason Sunday School class. She retired from the Tattnall County Department of Family and Children’s Services after many years of faithful service. Some of her favorite pastimes were spending time at Daytona Beach, Florida, attending events of her nieces and nephews, and feeding the fish and ducks at her nephew’s pond.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank L. Rewis; an infant daughter; her mother and step-father, Eva K. and Winston Dubose; her father, George Folsom; her mother-in law, Jeannie Friedman; brother and sister- in- law, James and Carolyn Folsom; sister and brother -in -law, Edith and Ted Beach; sister and brother-in-law, Frances F. and J.E. (“Doc”)Stephens; brother- in- law and sister- in- law, Charles and Carolyn Rewis; sister-in-law, Ina Marshall (Tommy); nieces, Sylvia Anderson ( husband, Calvin) and Francine Manske; and nephew- in -law, Jimmy Mobley.
She is survived by her niece, Lynda Mobley, and nephews, Jackie (Lisa) Trim, Eddie (Penny) Rewis and Teddy Rewis. Other survivors include her sister-in-law, Marilyn (Ken) Sigman, and many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great- nephews, along with many friends.
The family is grateful for the excellent care provided to Peggy by her caregivers, Cecelia (“Bootsie”) Carter, Ramona Dugger, and Carletha (“Toy”) Powell.
Visitation with Peggy’s family will be held Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at the Reidsville United Methodist Church from 6:00 -8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at the Reidsville United Methodist Church Thursday, August 3, 2017, at 3:00 p.m. with burial in the Reidsville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Steve Troha, Ryan Troha, Ethan Troha, Jeff Mobley, Clay Trim, Chan Trim, Russell Rewis, and Ben Wooten.
