Peggy Tootle

April 7, 1950 — July 28, 2021

Reidsville

Reidsville GA,

Peggy Tootle, age 71, passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer.  The Toombs County native spent much of her life in and around Reidsville with the exception of 15 years spent in Bartow Florida.  She was a dedicated employee of the Tattnall County Board of Education, working in food service.  In her free time, her favorite pastime was going camping.  She and her husband, Ernest, would frequent “Old Camp” on the Ohoopee River as their preferred campsite.  After a few days on the river, Peggy would inevitably put on a fish fry and invite everyone in the neighborhood!  A woman with a generous heart and sweet spirit; she will be dearly missed.  She is preceded in death by her parents, John Lee, and Geraldine Reese and two brothers, Aubrey Reese, and Charlie Reese.

Left to cherish memories of a lifetime well lived is her husband of well over 50 years, Ernest Tootle, Sr.; three sons, Walter (Stacey) Reese of Lyons, Ernest Tootle, Jr. of Reidsville, and John Tootle of Reidsville; a brother, Bobby Reese of Reidsville; a sister, Janet Glisson of Bartow FL; three grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive.

Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, July 29, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the chapel of Low Country Cremation & Burial in Reidsville.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Friday, July 30, 2021, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Moriah Church Cemetery with Rev. Jeffrey Barnard officiating.
