Perla C. Acosta, a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and friend who passed away on January 15,2025, at Candler County Hospital. Born on June 2, 1964, in Raymondville, Texas, Perla lived a life deeply rooted in love and family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reynaldo Acosta, Sr.; her son, Reynaldo Acosta, Jr.; her parents, Oscar and Alifonsa Rodriguez Chavez; and her brothers, Oscar Chavez, Jr. and Rudy Chavez, Sr.

Perla, known for her warm personality, dedicated her career as a private sitter, where she showed profound compassion and care for those she served. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren and daughter whose laughter and presence brought her immense happiness. 

She knew no stranger and cared for everyone. If you met Perla you knew she had a big heart , she was outspoken, never sugar coated anything and said things how it was. Her smile and loudness were contagious.She cared to hard for others and offered her last to anyone who needed it. She made friends wherever she went , her heart was big for everyone. She was and always will be one of a kind. Perla cherished going shopping and dining out, making lasting memories with her daughter and grandchildren.

She was a devoted and active member at New Life Baptist Church in Metter, where she found strength and solace in her faith. She loved participating in church activities and bible study, reflecting her commitment to her spiritual journey. Perla knew her lord and savior and her faith was never questioned.

Perla is survived by her children, Marivel (Osman) Rapalo of Glennville and Mario Martinez of Texas. She also leaves behind her siblings, Raul (Noemi) Chavez, Ruben (Veronica) Chavez, Ana Maria Lira, Maria Guadalupe (Kenneth) Chavez, Esmeralda Trejo, Elizabeth Douglas, and Doris Magee. Her legacy of love continues through her grandchildren, Jazmine Martinez, Stephany Quintero, Brianna Quintero, Osman Rapalo, Elizabeth Martinez, Reynaldo Ramirez Acosta, III, Ariana Martinez, Mario Martinez, Jr., and Isabella Martinez, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Perla C. Acosta will be remembered for her deep love for her family, her unwavering faith, and her generosity of spirit. Her presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved her, as she will no longer be here physically however by spirit she shall remain.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 23, 2025, from the hours of 1:00pm to 9:00pm at the funeral home.  Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am on Friday, January 24, 2025, from the Chapel of the Glennville Funeral Home.  Interment will be in the Glennville Memorial Gardens.
