Ralph McCumber

Ralph McCumber, age 77, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at the Hospice House of Savannah.  He was born in Reidsville on April 6, 1946 to L.R. McCumber Sr. and Annie Pearl Parker McCumber.  He was a 1965 Reidsville High School  graduate.  Ralph had lived in Effingham County for many years.  He retired from Hargray Telephone Company of Hilton Head as a Construction Engineer.  He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, L.R. Jr, Robert, Edwin, Jerry, Eldred McCumber, Faye Wilson, Louise Durrence, Frances Thompson, and Nell Yeomans.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Damaris McCumber of Bloomingdale; siblings, Walker McCumber of Savannah, Henry McCumber of Vidalia, and Vickie Fanning of Reidsville; his beloved cat, Sam; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 5, 2024 beginning at 2:00pm at the funeral home.  Graveside funeral services will follow at 3:00pm at the Reidsville City Cemetery.
