Raneldo Boyd

Raneldo Boyd, age 83 passed away Monday, March 25, 2024, at Community Hospice in Vidalia surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Glennville on July 8,1940, to Robert Edward Lee and Kathrine Baker Boyd and had lived in Reidsville most of his life.  After graduating from Reidsville High School in 1958, Raneldo embarked on a diverse career path that showcased his resilience and strong work ethic. He began by following in his father's footsteps as a logger before transitioning to become a license examiner for the State of Georgia, where he dedicated 21 years of service before retiring. Subsequently, he found fulfillment in his work at Hickory Hammock Ranch for another 17 years, leaving an indelible mark on all those he encountered.
 
Beyond his professional pursuits, Raneldo found solace and joy in his hobbies. A passion for hunting allowed him to connect with nature, while fishing provided moments of tranquility and reflection. His love for reading opened the doors to countless worlds and stories that enriched his life.  He is a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Lyons and is preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Cory Shafer.
 
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, George Ann Boyd of Reidsville; his daughters and son in law, Rhonda and Dean Pearson of Reidsville and Pat Ambrose of Vidalia, his siblings: Melba Jean Boatright of Claxton, Randy (Sharon) Boyd  of Gainesville, Andrea Stanley of Lyons, and Revis (Beth) Boyd of Ludowici; granddaughter Kara Wrenn Sikes of Collins and great-grandchildren Austin Dasher, Ansleigh Shafer, Bentlee Sikes, and Jaxson Sikes; numerous nieces and nephews.
 
The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00pm on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at the funeral home.  Funeral Services will follow at 3:00pm in the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial with Reverends Michael Plowman and Don Gibbs officiating. Interment will be in the Reidsville City Cemetery
 
Pallbearers will be Vann Tidwell, Jim Johnson, Brent Strickland, Chase Strickland, Steve Boatright and David Boatright.
