Obituary
Ray Winston Aiken, age 60, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his family and under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. A Chatham County native, Ray had lived in Savannah and Hilton Head, South Carolina moving to Tattnall County in 1988. He was a U.S Army veteran and had been stationed in Germany and Texas during his service. He spent many years as a heavy equipment operator.
He survived by his wife of 40 years Helga Aiken of Collins;daughters, Daniela Johnson of St. Louise, MO, and Randi LaChance of South Carolina; brothers, Randall Stafford; sisters, Nancy Buttermer and Angie Edwards both of Savannah; grandchildren, Autumn, Christian and Preston Wise, Rayann, Austin, and Desiray LaChance. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will begin at 5:00pm Friday, November 30, 2012 from the Reidsville Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Monday, December 3, 2012 from the chapel of the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery with the Reverend Wally Hill officiating. Military honors will be rendered.
