Raymond Williams was born to Raymond Williams, Sr. and Lynda Williams (Carl Thorpe) of Savannah, GA. Raymond Williams, Sr., preceded him in death. Raymond had one sister, Seville Johnson of Savannah, GA; two step sisters, Ashley Wallace and Lisa Wallace; three step brothers, Michael Wallace, Terell Thorpe, all of Savannah and Carl Thorpe, Jr. of Japan.
He was united in matrimony on May 12, 2000, to Trivia Smith-Williams. Raymond had a son, Rayquan Williams of Savannah, GA, three step sons, HaKeem Smith, Jermaine Roberson and Sydney Gordon, all of Savannah. One step daughter, LaQuwanda Smith of Savannah, GA, preceded him in death.
Raymond grew up on the East Side of Savannah, GA, where he attended the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System. He was a hard worker, employed at Miles and Son as a Cement Finisher. He attended Little Prayer Mission Church of God in Christ of Savannah, GA. Raymond was a well-known and loving person who loved spending time with his family. He also had a passion for fishing with family and friends. Raymond loved to smile and make others smile. He was an outgoing and friendly person who knew how to adapt to his environment.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Trivia Smith-Williams; mother, Lynda Williams; sister, Seville Johnson; four sons, three grandchildren, his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lee Williams, Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Allen Harvey, Sr.; five nieces, eight nephews, six aunts, six uncles, and a host of cousins and friends who loved and will sorely miss him.
Visitation and Funeral Services
Visitation will begin at 9:00am Friday, August 24, 2012 with funeral services to follow at 11:00am from the Little Prayer Mission COGIC in Savannah, GA. with Pastor Gerald Frazier, of Followers of Christ Baptist Church of Savannah, officiated. Interment will follow in the Magnolia Memorial Garden Cemetery.
Pallbearers were HaKeem Smith, Michael Wallace, Ron Garvin, Terrell Thorpe, Freddie Milton, Tjuana Milton, Robert Brown, Anthony Brown, Jamelle Williams and Fred Williams, III.
