Obituary

R. Glenn Smith , age 90, a lifelong resident of Reidsville passed away Monday, October 24, 2011 at Community Hospice Inpatient Center in Vidalia. He graduated from Reidsville High School in 1939 and attended ABAC. He served as a Reidsville City Councilman for fifteen years, Chairman of the Reidsville Housing Authority for twenty five years, member of the Reidsville Lions Club serving for sixty seven years, and served on the board of director of the Tattnall Bank for forty years. He was a farmer and a devoted member of the Reidsville United Methodist Church where he served in many capacities. Mr. Glenn is preceded in death by his wife Lokella Smith and a brother Mr. I.S. Smith, Jr.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Ann Smith of Reidsville, Two granddaughters, Mandy and Jason Powell of Lumber City and Lacie Smith(Jason Knight) of Reidsville; Great Granddaughter, Marley Powell of Lumber City; Special niece, Judy Smith Jordan of Reidsville; Special caregiver, Cathleen Sharpe of Reidsville; Two special friends, June Davis of Lumber City and Carl Preslar of Reidsville.

Visitation and Funeral Services

Visitation will begin at 6:00pm on Tuesday from the Reidsville Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be conducted 11:00am Wednesday from the Reidsville United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the Reidsville City Cemetery.
