Richard Joseph Martinez

Richard Joseph Martinez, age 69, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on April 29, 1953 in New Orleans, LA to Lindon and Catherine Martinez.  Richard was a Vietnam Veteran serving with the United States Navy on the USS American.  After Vietnam Richard joined the US Army and retired from Fort Stewart.  He also retired from Liberty Tire and Brake after 17 years of service as their store Manager.  He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, reading, watching the History Channel on TV and mostly spending time with his family.  He is a member of Little Rock Baptist Church and is preceded in death by his father; his daughter, Tabatha Matthews and a brother, Marc Martinez.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Nancy Martinez of the Sandhills; children, Samantha (Joshua) Kipke of the Sandhills and Tricia Neely of Allenhurst; his mother, Catherine Martinez of New Orleans; grandchildren, Brittany (Drew) Miller, Taylor Nichole Neely, Brooklynn Elizabeth Kipke, Raelynn Grace Kipke, and Chase Neely; many adopted grandchildren that has been in their lives.

Memorial funeral services will be held 11:00am on Saturday January 14, 2022 at Little Rock Baptist Church with Reverend Curt Tootle and Bishop James Holland officiating.  Brittany Lynn Miller will give the eulogy.  Entombment will be held at Lake Lawn Cemetery in New Orleans.
