Rickey Wammock, born on August 25, 1963, in Atlanta, Georgia, passed away on March 16, 2025, at Community Hospice. He was a native of Montgomery County and he lived a life rich with passion, creativity, and love for those around him. Rickey was of the Pentecostal Faith, which was a source of strength and pride in his life. He was preceded in death by his children, Kelly and Kerry Wammock; his parents, Cyrus Wammock and Lorene Statham; and his siblings, Derrick Wammock and Daryl Wammock. Their memories will forever be entwined with his, and his absence will be deeply felt.
Rickey was known for his many interests and hobbies. He had a deep appreciation for horses and watching NASCAR races. His artistic spirit flourished through drawing, painting, and whittling wood, allowing him to express himself in wonderful ways. Music was another joy in his life as he loved playing the harmonica, often bringing comfort and joy to friends and family. He cherished the time spent with his family, friends, and his beloved dog, Daisy.
Rickey leaves behind a loving family who will remember him fondly. He is survived by his step-daughter, Tami Oliver; brother, Randy Wammock; and sisters, Melissa Tidwell and Melinda Hedgepeth; grandchildren, Tristan Beasley, Cadence Oliver, Layton Poole, Dalton Kight, and Allyanna Oliver, along with his great-grandchild, Bellamy Beasley. He is also lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews, including Terri Bowden, Kristy Weeks, O.T. Wammock, Tiffany Lynch, Taylor Tidwell, Ashley Roberts, Joshua Hedgepeth, and Cheyenne Burns, as well as several great-nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Rickey on April 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Coopers Cemetery, located on Coopers Lane in Mount Vernon, Georgia. This gathering will serve as a heartfelt tribute to a man who touched the lives of so many.
As we remember Rickey, let us celebrate not only his accomplishments and interests but also the tenderness he brought into the lives of those around him. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
