Rita Mary (Ganster) Hudson

Rita Hudson, age 83 passed away Monday, May 24, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Georgia Hospice Care. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA. on November 23, 1937 to James and Frances Martin Ganster.  She was a native of South Florida and a single mother of 4 children who worked hard all of her life. Rita was a devoted Catholic and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Deborah Pritchett.

She is survived by her son, James (Rebecca Odom) Johnson; daughters, Cathleen (James) Coleman all of Baxley and Darlene Tucker of Amarillo, TX; sister, Dorothy Sapp of Pittsburgh, PA; nieces, Roxanne Roof, Sharie Ganster, and Karen Sharp; grandchildren, Melissa Smart, Rachel Robinson, Raymond Pritchett, Shannon Griffin, Casey Coleman, Randall Coleman, James Coleman, Morgen Coleman, Brittany  Scarboro, Kaitlyn Foreman. great-grandchildren, Sierra Smart, Cody Smart, Casey Coleman, Jr., Alaina Coleman, Aubree Coleman, Landon Robinson, Kylee Pritchett, Bryce Pritchett, Audrina Pritchett, Morgan Pritchett.

Services will be held at a later date.

Low Country Cremation and Burial is serving Ms. Rita’s family.
