Mrs. Robbie J. “Dot” Brown, age 90, passed away Friday, August 27, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 10, 1930 in Glennville to OT and Gladys Durrence Purvis. She had lived in Tennessee for many years before moving back to Glennville in 2005. Mrs. Dot was a homemaker that loved working in her garden, tending to her flowers, and quilting. She and her late husband enjoyed dancing. She was a member of the Eastern Star and also the Glennville First Christian Church. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, GW Brown; daughter, Dawn Ammons; grandsons, Marty Herrin and Tracy Herrin; siblings, Hannah Folsom, Juanell Sikes, Mitchell Purvis and Reginald Purvis.
Mrs. Dot is survived by her children, Wayne (Hazel) Brown of Glennville, Jean Ellen Binion of Clarksville, TN, and David Brown (JoNell Herrin) of Reidsville; grandchildren, Dayne Brown, Jessica Radford, TJ (Amber) Ammons, Jonathan Ammons; great grandchildren, Julianna Radford, Brody Radford, Valerie Radford, Chloe Radford, Thomas Ammons, John Ammons, Trevor Herrin and Trenton Herrin; special caregiver, Rose Towery of Reidsville; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00pm on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 with the funeral services to follow at 3:00pm at the Chapel of Glennville Funeral Home with Rev. Martin Bender officiating. Interment will follow in the Loves Chapel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Cody Folsom, Mark Dasher, Dayne Brown, Dillon Pye, Bobby Folsom and Joe Folsom.
