Robert “Robbie” Franklin Wright, age 53, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025.
Robbie was born on June 12, 1971, at Fort McPherson, in East Point, Georgia, to Sandy and Cliff Wright. He was a 1989 graduate of Jonesboro High School and a dedicated public servant who began his journey as a volunteer with the Jonesboro Volunteer Fire Department. That early passion for helping others would become a lifelong calling.
Throughout his career, Robbie served with distinction at several fire departments, including Union City Fire Department, McDonough Fire Department, and Grady Hospital, where he worked as an EMT-Intermediate. Known for his selflessness and compassion, Robbie spent his life caring for those around him—both on and off duty.
Robbie had a deep love for his family and treasured every moment spent with them. He was also passionate for the sport of NASCAR where he supported the sport by serving on the NASCAR Fire Rescue team for over 20 years, a role he embraced with pride and enthusiasm.
He is survived by his loving wife, Tina Wright; daughter, Stormy Wright; stepson, Jordan Williams; sister, Kimberly Hester (Jeff); niece, Bethany Strickland; and many close friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Robbie’s life will be celebrated and lovingly remembered throughout the 2025 NASCAR season, with a special tribute to be announced at a later date.
