Robert Wayne “Hogg” McCumber, Jr . age 48, passed away Monday, December 21, 2015 at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah surrounded by his family.  The Tattnall County native had lived in Reidsville most of his life.  He was the owner and operator of McCumber Trucking Company.  Hogg was known as a family man with a huge heart that would help anyone in need.  He lived life to the fullest and could bring a smile to anyone’s face.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert McCumber and Sue McCumber Kennedy.

He is survived by his wife, Avie Dean McCumber of Lyons; children, Hunter McCumber of Statesboro, Harley and Mercedes McCumber both of Reidsville; step children, Karlye and Dawson Claxton both of Lyons; brother, Shannon (April) McCumber of Reidsville; nephew, Dalton McCumber of Reidsville; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousin.

The family will receive friends beginning at 5:00pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.  Funeral services will be conducted 11:00a.m. Thursday, December 24, 2015 from the Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home & Crematory with the Reverends Wes Collins and Reece Mincey officiating.  Interment will follow in the Reidsville City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ronald Curl, Bob Jones, Kerry Murray, Merle Anderson, Daniel Anderson, Travis Jones, Jeff Adams, and Ken Shepherd.

Since Hogg had many friends the family was scared to name honorary pallbearers, so all of his friends will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Memorials may be given to Tattnall C.A.R.E.S.
