Robert Powell

Robert Lee Powell Sr., age 60, passed away Sunday September 26, 2021, at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross.  He was born May 8, 1961, in Baltimore, Maryland and had lived in Tattnall County most of his life.  In his professional career, Robert was a skilled carpenter.  Together with his son, Bobby, they owned and operated Powell Metal Roofing.  For several decades, Robert has been an Evangelist, spreading the Gospel of Jesus near and far.  Not only would he give sermons, but he would sing the message of Jesus as well.  He certainly loved the Lord and would often be found running the sound board or playing the drums in his local church.  Robert may best be known for his large stature, but that physical size paled in comparison to his huge heart!  He was a detailed craftsman, a devoted father, and dedicated servant of the Lord called home to soon; he will be deeply missed by all those whose lives he has touched. He is preceded in death by his father, Billy Powell; children, Robert Powell Jr and Felisha Powell; granddaughter, Nevaeh Arnold and a great grandson, Braydon Palmer.

He is survived by his wife, Michele Powell of Baxley; his mother, Jean Powell of Florida; children, Katie (Alex) Powell Colindres of Collins, Bobby (Kimberly) Powell of Collins and their mother, Patricia Powell of Reidsville, Elisha Powell, Nehemiah Powell and their mother, Crystal Crunkelton of Waycross, Ricky Cleland, Jr. of Lumber City, Ashley Perez of TN, Sabrina (TJ) Arnold of Baxley, Starr Perez of Bazley, Alyssa Coursey of Waycross, Taylor Crunkelton of Waycross, and Colton Crunkelton of Waycross; siblings, Billy (Lisa) Powell, Jr of Baltimore, Betty Powell of FL, Karen Libby of FL, and Wayne Powell of FL; grandchildren, Dalton Palmer, Derek Palmer, Haleigh Thompson, Hannah Thompson, Levi Powell, Natalya Colindres, Emma Powell, Hayden Powell; 1 great grandson; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 30, 2021, beginning at 6:00pm from the funeral home.  Funeral services will be conducted 4:00pm, Friday, October 1, 2021, from the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial with Reverend Caleb Lancaster officiating.
