Glennville,
Mr. Robert Lee Tootle, age 77, passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021 at his residence. He was born in Reidsville on June 4, 1944 to Foy E. and Nettie Lee Wilds Tootle and had lived in Tattnall County most of his life. He was a retired supervisor from Whaley Construction after 25 years of service. After his retirement he became the “handy man” for a lot of people in the area. Mr. Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and watching the Westerns on the television. He was a faithful member and Deacon of Stoney Hill Freewill Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Carolyn Tootle Hatfield, Katherine Tootle Hughes, Vonice Tootle Price, Terry Tootle and Gladys Tootle Collins.
He is survived by his wife, Bennie Kicklighter Tootle of Glennville; children, Mary (Aaron) Patton of Newnan, and Andy (Mary) Tootle of Baxley; step children, Kelly (Lee) Bland, Rhonda Carter and Shawnda (David) White all of Glennville, and James (Jamie) Hall of Brunswick; siblings, Melba Tootle Smith, Foy Tootle, Jr.,Earnest Tootle, Sr. all of Reidsville, Doy Tootle of Alamo and Doyle (Susan) Tootle of Reidsville; 16 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 9, 2021 beginning at 10:00am at the Glennville Funeral Home with the graveside funeral services to follow at 11:30am at the Beards Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Jeffery Barnard officiating.
Pallbearers will be Zach Hutchinson, David White, Brinson White, Lee Bland, Jason Cope, and Bryant Flury.
Memorials may be given to Stoney Hill Freewill Baptist Church.
