Robert "Bob" Leroy YatesNovember 3, 1948 – February 18, 2025

Robert "Bob" Leroy Yates passed away peacefully in Savannah, GA, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Jacksonville, FL, and was a proud graduate of Terry Parker High School, Class of 1966. Bob served his country in the U.S. Air Force before attending San Jose State University on the GI Bill, where he laid the foundation for his career as a CPA.

Bob was known for his sharp mind, his love of golf, and, most memorably, his incredible sense of humor. He was a masterful joketeller, always ready with a quick wit and a laugh that could brighten any room. Those who knew him best will forever cherish the countless moments of joy and laughter he brought into their lives.

Bob is survived by his devoted wife, Judy Yates. The two shared a beautiful life and would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 5, 2025. His children also survive him: Alison Harris (David) and their children, Lily and Ethan; Corey Yates (John Mock) and her children, Kaden and Lillian Glore; and Catherine "Cat" Yates Campbell (Michael RJ Campbell). He also leaves behind his sister, Linda Lesesne (Henry), and sister-in-law, Inez James. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Sally Stoner (Richard), and his brother, Lamar James. His beloved Corgi, Brewster, who passed just five days earlier, was surely waiting to greet him.

A private gathering will be held in his honor. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the Savannah Widows’ Society or Savannah Stage Company.

Bob’s laughter, love, and lighthearted spirit will be deeply missed but never forgotten
