Robert "Bob" Barber

Rob Barber , age 51, passed away Friday, December 2, 2016 at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Center in Statesboro with his wife by his side after a short battle with cancer. The New York native had lived in Cato, NY for twenty one years before moving to Georgia. He had lived in Hinesville and Townsend before moving to Glennville ten years ago. While in New York he had received an associate’s degree in chemistry from Cayuga Community College. He was a sales representative for NeSmith Chevrolet in Claxton. In Rob’s free time he loved cooking, cycling, fishing and getting in the car to just go on a ride. He was an active member of the Glennville First Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Elizabeth Barber.

He is survived by his wife of seventeen years, Teresa Larsen Barber of Glennville; children, Madelin Barber, Elizabeth Barber, and Robert Barber III all of Glennville; father, Robert Barber, Sr. of Cato, NY; siblings, Lisa Barber and Bryan Barber both of Cato, NY; father and mother-in-law, Julian and Dottie Larsen of Glennville; sister-in-law, Julianne (Geoff) Atkinson of Glennville; brother-in-law, Marshall (Marilyn) Larsen of Atlanta; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

The family will receive friends beginning at 1:30pm on Thursday, December 8, 2016 from the Glennville First Baptist Church with a Memorial service to follow at 3:00pm with the Reverend Mike Howard officiating.

Memorials may be given to Living Vine Christian Maternity Home, 535 East 54 ^th Street, Savannah, GA 31405.
