Robert John Beninati was born October 1st, 1934 to Frank and Lucy Beninati of Waltham, Massachusetts. He grew up loving baseball and music. By age five he was playing the accordion and performing for family and friends. At age eleven he made the newspaper by performing at a birthday party. Robert Beninati, affectionately known as Bob, passed away on March 25th, 2023 at his home in Evans, Georgia surrounded by family. Following High School, Bob enlisted in the United States Army (the draft was in effect at that time.) Following a period of time in Korea, he had five months left of his three year term and was sent to Fort Stewart Georgia in 1958. While there he met his Georgia peach, Joyce, who worked at the base photography studio. Their love story was surely ordained by God. Bob was honorably discharged in February 1959. He returned home and studied electronics engineering and was employed by AT&T. Bob and Joyce were married in July 1961 and welcomed their first child Brian in 1965. While expecting Kevin in 1967, AT&T transferred Bob to West Palm Beach, Florida. In 1970, Bob and Joyce were two of thirteen adults instrumental in starting the UPC church of West Palm Beach, Florida, now known as The Sanctuary of the Palm Beaches. Bob served the church in many roles; Sunday School teacher, church secretary, Bible study teacher, maintenance and Board Member from 1971 until moving to Georgia in 2016. Bob is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Lucy Beninati.
