Tybee Island
Ronald C. Brown, Ronnie or RB as he was known to most, passed peacefully away in his sleep Saturday morning June 7th 2014 at his home on Tybee Island Georgia. Originally from Honesdale PA born to Catherine (O'Hara) and Robert Brown on November 11th 1950. Ronnie graduated from Honesdale High School then studied at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale FL and Paier College of Art in Conneticut. Ronnie turned his hand to many jobs including the Rail Road, construction and roofing until he found his calling in masonry, eventually owning a successful "StoneWork" masonry business in PA. Ronnie could be found most mornings, with a cup of coffee at the Hawley Diner, where everybody knew his name and business and news was conducted before work! Ronnie was an exclaimed down hill skier winning numerous medals in the Salomon down hill races in and around NE PA and he passed his talents on to his children, Kristen and Marc and also taught Nicole to excel on the slopes. After meeting his best friend and life long companion Julia (Foster) he then realized how much he loved to travel, not only to England were he met his new extended family but also up and down the east coast. Ronnie finally gave up the snow and ice for sun and surf and settled into a southern life style on Tybee Island, Georgia. Ronnie thoroughly enjoyed his long talks with Kristen and Marc and later when granddaughter Avery joined in the conversation. He chatted at length with his English family and always had time for his friends from PA, he especially used to love to brag about the weather here when it was below freezing elsewhere. Ronnie still loved exploring and traveling to different places, he embraced Julia's whims and would think nothing of packing up the van and driving to a PowWow or a dolphin convention In another state. Ronnie was always so proud of what his family and friends accomplished, he was proud for Kristen, Kevin and Avery though he was always worried for Kevin being overseas. He was proud of Marc in Hawaii and Nicole leaving her home town to follow her dreams. He especially loved to sit and talk and loved the gatherings at their house. He would give anything for family or friends. He recently worked at Blue Water Marina and is a beloved member of Tybee Church.
He leaves behind a sister Mary HIll (NY) his partner in life Julia Foster (Tybee Island), , a loving daughter Kristen (Brown) Hunter and son in law Kevin Hunter with their daughter Avery Hunter (Denver) , a loving son Marc Brown and girlfriend Kim (Hawaii) and his stepdaughter Nicole Haas (Georgia). plus numerous friends.
