Ronald “Sack” Fowler, age 57, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family. The Tattnall County native grew up near the State Prison Reservation and formed many lifelong friendships there. These friendships ensured that he would remain in Tattnall County throughout his lifetime. Truly, Sack had a servant’s heart and would do anything, for anybody. This is perhaps what led him to his career with the City of Reidsville in the Public Works Department. He was able to come to countless citizen’s rescue to restore critical service of water and sewer no matter the time. His knowledge and talents were of critical importance to the citizens of Reidsville. In his free time, he greatly enjoyed fishing and watching Nascar. Although his love of Nascar was based largely in the fact that he could bet (and beat) his son, Rudy on most given race days! Nothing, however, in his life held a candle to his biggest love, his granddaughter, Paisley Ann Fowler whom he lovingly called “Monk-Monk”. No matter how busy or how tired, he always made time to play with his Monk-Monk. Sack was a man’s man and his word you could count on; his presence will be deeply missed. He is preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Ann Fowler and his parents, Wilbur and Peggy Fowler.

Left to cherish the memories of a lifetime together are his son, Ronald “Rudy” Kyle (Kristen) Fowler; a brother, Tony Fowler; a sister, Phyllis (Don) Sikes; granddaughter, Paisley Ann “Monk-Monk” Fowler; a niece, Jill (Neil) Singleton ; two nephews, Matthew Fowler and Alan Sikes; other relative and countless friends also survive.

An opportunity for public viewing will be held on Friday, May 1, 2020 beginning at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Low Country Cremation & Burial in Reidsville. Please note that social distancing guidelines will be enforced at the funeral home.

Private graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at Reidsville City Cemetery with Rev. Allen Rey officiating. Interment will immediately follow.

Pallbearers will be Mark McCall, Sean Whitledge, Charles Anderson, Cody Anderson, Derek Montford, and Justin Brazell. Honorary pallbearers include Don Sikes, Larry Sikes, Merrill Anderson, and Danny Anderson.
