Reverend Ronald Lee Lawhead, 73, of Sevierville, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday February 26th, 2020 at 7pm due to complications with his heart at St. Joseph Candler Hospital in Savannah, Georgia.
Ron was a Minister for the United Methodist Conference in Indiana for over 38 years. He had been retired since 2009 from the Conference and had been living in Tennessee since his retirement. He was still actively involved in the Gatlinburg United Methodist Church. He was an active member of the church’s choir and helped with the bulletins and newsletter.
Ron has accomplished his calling and has gone to be with God. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 7th, 6pm at Gatlinburg United Methodist Church to celebrate and honor his dedicated life serving our Lord.
Ron was born April 27th, 1946 in Indianapolis, IN. He served in the United States Air Force in Vietnam. He married Nancy Lawhead (Nidiffer) in June of 1966 until her passing in 2019. He then remarried Judith Lawhead (Holly) in November of 2019 until his passing. He is survived by spouse Judith Lawhead, one brother, Leroy, his four sons, Frank, Ronnie (Ami), Aaron (Jeannie), Thomas (Teresa), one stepson Cameron Holly (Mandy), 8 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Dorthy Lawhead, his sister, Seretta, and his first wife, Nancy
