Ruby Laverne (Bargeron) Morris

Ruby Laverne Bargeron Morris, age 83, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Reidsville on April 18, 1936 to the Rev. JD and Eva Mae Strickland Bargeron. In 1950, she married the love of her life, Billy Morris and together they shared 67 years of marriage until his passing in 2018.  She was a member of Bible Baptist Church of Savannah. Laverne was a Christian lady who enjoyed fishing, hairdressing, attending Church activities and family get togethers. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Sammy Dwain Morris; and siblings, Revis Bargeron, Harold Bargeron and Lavonia Lynn.

She is survived by her; daughter, Barbara Kay Rhodes (Mike) of Savannah; son, William Darlon Morris (Jessica) of Rincon; brother, Rev. Jimmy Bargeron (Mary) of Glennville;  grandchildren, Sammy Brian Morris, Jesse Clyde Sullivan, Jr.(Amanda), Kimberly Sullivan (Trent), Ashleigh McClune (Matthew), Spencer Morris, Cameron Morris (Melody), Hunter Morris, Karah Morris; great-grandchildren, Valerie Morris, Chandler Morris, Aron Jack Sullivan, Slayten Brock, Ryker Brock, Collin Sullivan, Terrey Sullivan, Connor McClune, Daniel McClune, Asher Morris, Noah Morris, Brex Broxton; step grandchildren, Bridget Lowe, Tori Lowe, Layla Lowe, Lucy Lowe, Rebecca Lowe, and Jesse Lowe; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Family will receive friends beginning at 10:00am on Friday, January 3, 2020 at Bible Baptist Church of Savannah, 4700 Skidaway Rd. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am with the Reverends Herbert Hubbard, Kelly McInerney, and Thomas East officiating. Graveside services will be conducted 3:00pm, Friday, January 3, 2020 at Glennville City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be David Bargeron, Johnny Branch, Matt Todd, Trent Broxton, Dale Morris,and Matt McClune.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bible Baptist Building Fund, 4700 Skidaway Rd., Savannah, Georgia 31404.
