Ruth (Thompson) Holmes

Ruth T. Holmes passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2020 under hospice care in Rock Hill, NC. Ruth was born in Tattnall County, Georgia on January 14, 1922. She was the identical twin sister of Ruby Thompson Smith (deceased). Ruth and Ruby had five brothers and sisters, all deceased. Ruth lived most of her life in Savannah, Georgia. She was the wife of Gordon William Holmes, Sr. (Deceased)

She is survived by two children, Gordon William Holmes, Jr, son and Sandra Holmes Everson, daughter. Ruth has two grandsons, Richard Curtis Holmes and Michael Alan Everson, Sr. She is survived by three great grandchildren, Haley Elizabeth Everson, Ashland Holmes and Michael Alan Everson, Jr.Ruth was a lifetime member of Calvary Baptist Temple in Savannah in and was very active in many church groups. For the past ten years Ruth lived with her daughter, Sandra, and son in law in Pineville, North Carolina.

There will be a graveside funeral service be held on Friday, September 11, 2020 at 11:00am at Reidsville City Cemetery with Rev. William Prince officiating.
