Sally May Wetmore, a cherished wife, devoted mother, and respected member of the Hinesville community, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2024, at the age of 74. Born on December 3, 1949, Sally lived a life marked by love, kindness, and unwavering faith. As a devoted member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Sally was known for her steadfast dedication to her faith and her compassionate spirit. Her warm smile and gentle demeanor made her a beloved figure among friends and neighbors. She was always ready to lend a helping hand and offer words of comfort and hope, reflecting the values she held dear. Sally's love and commitment extended into her family life, where she was the heart and soul of her household.
She shared a beautiful 53-year marriage with her loving husband, Robert James Wetmore, who stood by her side through every joy and trial. Together, they raised four wonderful children: Matthew (Lisa) Wetmore, Benjamin Wetmore, Jennifer (Melvin) Williams, and Lynette Wetmore instilling in them the virtues of love, respect, and perseverance. Her legacy continues through them, as well as her numerous grandchildren: Kathaleen (Marvin) Grovner, Melvin J. Williams, and Bryonna (Elijah) Turner whose lives she enriched with stories, laughter, and endless affection. Sally also leaves behind two sisters Sandra Jane Petrie Mead Sposito and Sharon Ann Petrie Smith. Sally leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends. Sally was predeceased in death by her parents Gerald Roy Petrie and Olive Kathaleen Bunt Petrie, as well as two brother-in-laws Daniel Sposito and Patrick John Smith SR. Her home in Hinesville was a place of solace and joy, where family gatherings were filled with laughter and warmth. Sally had a passion for gardening, finding peace and fulfillment amidst the fragrant blooms and vibrant colors that adorned her garden. Her love for nature was evident not only in her home but also in her deep appreciation for life's simplest joys.
Sally's life will be celebrated at a funeral service held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1779 Talmadge Rd, Walthourville, GA 31301, on October 26, 2024, at 11 a.m. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by her kindness are invited to attend. In this time of sorrow, we find comfort in the indelible mark Sally has left on our lives. Her legacy of love, perseverance, and faith will remain with us forever. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her.
