Saralyn Cowan Tootle, age 72, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2024, at Community Hospice in Vidalia. She was born on July 7, 1952, in Statesboro to Charles H. and Sara Lucy Rustin Cowan and had lived in Glennville for most of her life.

Saralyn was a proud graduate of the Glennville High School class of 1970. She began her professional journey at the Glennville Bank, where she devoted ten years of hard work and commitment. Following her time at the bank, she found her long-term career at Rotary Corporation, serving as the Personnel Manager for over twenty years. Her contributions were valued, and her impact within the workplace will be remembered fondly by her colleagues.

In her personal life, Saralyn cherished her family and friends. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, often delighting in putting puzzles together and listening to her favorite tunes from the 70s and 80s. She was of the Baptist faith and is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Charles "Bud" Cowan; a special uncle, William O. "Bill O" Rustin; and her step daughter, Rachel Tootle Allen.

She is survived by her  husband of 39 years, Barry Tootle of Glennville; her sister, Miriam Tilley of Kennesaw; stepdaughter, Rita Tootle Smith of Savannah; and her beloved grandchildren, Caitlin Allen (Jake) Dobbs, Luke Smith, and Molly Smith; great grandson, Paxton Dobbs; several nieces and nephews

A graveside funeral service was held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at the Glennville City Cemetery where Rev. Keith Rustin officiated.

Glennville Funeral Home had the honor to serve the Tootle family.
