Matthew 18:2-3 “And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, (3) And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of Heaven.

Semetria Monique Calhoun was born October 15, 1981 to her loving parents, Lillian Calhoun and Willie Walker.  She is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Delois Irene Calhoun and paternal grandparents, Albert and Joyce Eva Walker.

Monique as she was known and lived by many went through training in the Tattnall County school system in the Nurses Plus Program.  There she went through both middle school and the high school graduation ceremonies accompanied by the staff.

Monique leaves to cherish her precious memories; her parents, Willie and Lillian Calhoun-Walker of Reidsville; four sisters, Marquitta (DeVaughn) Foxx of Marietta, Jonlissa Calhoun, Jalanda Calhoun, and Kena Walker all of Reidsville; four brothers, Jerry Downey of Macon, Michael Downey and Willie (Tomava) Collins both of Reidsville, and Direen Jinks of Glennville; Grandfather, Jerry Calhoun of Reidsville; thirteen uncles, Terry (Cynthia) Calhoun, Larry Calhoun, and Aubrey (Tammy) Davis each of Reidsville, Kenneth (Pamela) Davis of Sacramento CA, Gregory Davis of Eastman, Kevin (Asheka) Guest of Davisboro, and Orrie (Geraldine) Doe of Ft. Lauderdale FL; one great uncle, Billy Joe Coley of New York; thirteen aunts, Lois, Jettie, and Sonnie Calhoun, Cheryl (Raymond) Manning all of Reidsville, Mary (Willie) Sellers of Atlanta, Shirley (Ruben, Jr.) King and Linda (Dale) Thomas both of Glennville, Bonnie (Dean) McKinnon and Betty (Greg) Smith both of Jacksonville FL, Beverly Walker of Claxton; three great aunts, Evonne Fussell of Brunswick, Shirley Dean Knight of Boston MA, and Etwinda Murphy of Glennville; nine nephews, TreVaughn and TaiVion Calhoun, and Truss Foxx of Marietta, Karson, Khamari and Qiyam Calhoun, Kryshawn Downey all of Reidsville, Michye and Michael Downey, III, both of Atlanta; two nieces, TyLeal Foxx of Marietta and Baileigh Hunter of Atlanta; A special friend, Natalie Hunter; a host of cousins and friends also survive.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 5, 2021 at the funeral home from the hours of 6:00pm to 8:00pm.  Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at the chapel of Low Country Cremation & Burial with the interment to follow in Roberts Chapel Cemetery.  Repast will be at the St. Matthews Masonic Lodge.
