Reidsville mourns the passing of Mrs. Sharon Jordan McCall, a devoted wife, mother, and esteemed member of the community, who passed away peacefully on April 17, 2023, at Memorial Health University Medical Center, surrounded by her loved ones. Mrs. McCall was born on March 18, 1947, in Reidsville, to WJ “Bill” and Ann Strickland Jordan, and spent her entire life in Tattnall County. Mrs. McCall graduated from Reidsville High School and pursued a career in law, earning a Paralegal Degree after high school. Following her post-secondary education, she worked as the Chief Deputy Clerk for the Clerk of Courts before being elected as the Tattnall County Probate Court Judge in 1980. She would go on to serve in this capacity for an impressive 24 years, earning a reputation for her wisdom and compassion. Her expertise and dedication to the law won her accolades from her peers and the admiration of the community. Following her retirement as Tattnall County Probate Judge, Governor Sonny Perdue appointed Mrs. McCall as a Senior Judge, a testament to her legal acumen and respect within the profession. As a Senior Judge, she was authorized to sit on any bench in the State of Georgia, in which a law license was not required, making her an invaluable resource to the legal system. Mrs. McCall was also an active member of the Reidsville Garden Club and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. In her free time, she loved gardening and reading. Despite being dedicated to her career and her social obligations, her family was always her top priority. Her legacy will live on as all who knew her will fondly remember her kindness, her wisdom, and her unwavering commitment to making the world a better place.
Left to cherish precious memories of a life well lived is her husband of 58 years, John McCall; a son and daughter-in-law, Van, and Amy McCall; granddaughters Tinsley and Ally McCall; a brother Rusty Jordan of Elberton, GA, along with sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.
