Shirley Brockus, age 72 passed away Monday, June 27, 2016 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. The Jacksonville native had lived in Mendes for the past 21 years and retired from Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms. Shirley loved to crochet and was an avid football fan that especially loved watching the Florida teams. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie and Lois Hodges.

She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie (Danny) Rush of Mendes; grandchildren, Bobby Glen Seymour, Haylie Seymour, Katherine “Katye” Anderson, Ashley Rush, Danielle Brown.

Private memorial services will be held.

Memorial donations may be made to Ogeechee Area Hospice or the American Lung Association.

Low Country Cremation Services and Burial is serving the Brockus family.
